Last week Kevin O’Donnell and Meredith Klug of O’Donnell Commercial Real Estate attended the 2022 BOMA MOB and Healthcare Real Estate Conference in Nashville.

Keynote speakers included developers, REITs, and medical commercial real estate brokers. Topics ranged from, “If you build it, will they come? Markets that could be the next life sciences field of dreams,” and “Brace for impact: How will the industry be impacted by health systems buying MOBs?”

As Chicago has seen recently health systems are merging and/or acquiring one another to form mega health systems with the capability to buy more real estate. “Over the past 12 months, health systems have become much more active in acquiring real estate ownership. Rather than just a place to operate, real estate has become a primary focus for many health systems,” concurred the panel at the conference.

Attending this conference, as well as other medical real estate related events is important to O’Donnell Commercial. We are constantly seeking opportunities for our medical REIT clients, as well as healthcare organizations, to grow their business.
